Winter weather advisory begins this evening

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for several west Michigan counties, including Oceana County, from 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, until 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28.

Impacted counties include Oceana, Mason, Lake, Allegan, Van Buren and Kalamazoo.

Total snow accumulations of 2-5 inches are expected.

“Plan on slippery road conditions,” states NWS. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

“Lake effect snow showers are likely this afternoon and tonight. Localized reductions and visibility and quick accumulations on roads are possible in any heavier bands. Lake effect snow showers will continue into Tuesday morning. Slick spots on area roadways are possible for the Tuesday morning commute.”
