Detectives investigate minor solicitation via social media

CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP — Oceana County sheriff’s detectives are investigating a case of a minor being solicited by an adult through social media.
The incident was reported Wednesday, Nov. 15, shortly before 7 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Jefferson Road. The case was turned over to the detective bureau for further investigation.
The following is other recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:
Monday, Nov. 13, 2023:
- 1:53 a.m., malicious destruction of property, 3000 block of West Baker Road, Benona Township. Deputies responded to a domestic assault, and some of the victim’s items were destroyed. No charges have been issued yet.
- 4:56 p.m., family dispute, 4800 block of South First Street, Village of New Era.
Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023:
- 6:58 p.m., breaking and entering, 200 block of East Cherry Street, Village of Shelby. It appears that the suspect(s) entered through a sliding glass door. Nothing was stolen or damaged.
Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023:
- 2:45 a.m., unlawfully driving away an auto, 3700 block of East Loop Road, Ferry Township. The vehicle was recovered.
- 7:25 a.m., a 47-year-old Walkerville man was arrested for domestic assault, 6400 block East Filmore Road, Leavitt Township.
- 8:35 p.m., suspicious situation. 3600 block of North Karen Street, City of Hart.
