51st Circuit Court sentencings, posted Oct. 27, 2023

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court:

Goerbig

– Shawn Alan Goerbig, 44, pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to malicious destruction of fire or police property and was sentenced Oct. 16 to one year in jail with credit for 307 days served; one year probation; $3,735 in restitution; and $198 in fines and costs. Goerbig pleaded guilty Jan. 6 to ethnic intimidation and was sentenced to a concurrent term of nine months in jail with credit for 116 days served; two years probation; and $598 in fines and costs. He also pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to two counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for 338 days served; one year probation; and $598 in fines and costs. Izquierdo

– Shae Fransisco Izquierdo, 36, pleaded guilty Aug. 28 to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is a high-court misdemeanor, and a misdemeanor of stalking. Felony charges of third-degree CSC and aggravated stalking were dismissed. He was sentenced Oct. 23 to one year in jail with credit for 298 days served; five years probation; and $658 in fines and costs.

Medema

– David Alan Medema, 56, pleaded guilty Aug. 28 to methamphetamine possession and was sentenced Oct. 23 to 29 days in jail with credit for 29 days served; two years probation; and $658 in fines and costs.

Russell

– Shane Robert Russell, 40, pleaded guilty July 17 to controlled substance possession — cocaine, heroin or another narcotic and was sentenced Oct. 16 to two days in jail with credit for two days served; one year probation; and $598 in fines and costs.

Bennett

– Keven Steven Bennett, 32, pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to methamphetamine possession and was sentenced Oct. 16 to 35 days in jail with credit for 35 days served; 18 months probation; and $598 in fines and costs.

Matthew Morris

– Matthew Scott Morris, 18, pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to common law fraud and was sentenced Oct. 16 to four days in jail with credit for four days served; one year probation; $1,250 in restitution; and $658 in fines and costs. 

Terry McClernan

– Terry Eugene McClernan, 57, pleaded no contest Aug. 21 to third-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Oct. 16 to 120 days in jail with credit for five days served; two years probation; and $793 in fines and costs.

Alfred Escamilla

– Alfred Martinez Escamilla, 61, pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to third-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while license suspended and was sentenced Oct. 9 to four months in jail with credit for two days served; two years probation; and $966 in fines and costs.

Benito Escamilla

– Benito Escamilla, Jr., 53, pleaded no contest Aug. 28 to methamphetamine possession and was sentenced Oct. 23 to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year probation; and $598 in fines and costs.
