79th District Court sentencings, posted Oct. 26, 2023
HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:
Danielle Denise Penoyer, 38, of 2740 64th Ave., Hart, pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to domestic violence and was sentenced to nine days in jail with credit for four days served. Penoyer also pleaded guilty Oct. 17 to larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to nine days suspended jail with credit for nine days served and $300 in restitution.
Joseph Christopher Slater, 56, of 9414 Holton Duck Lake Rd., Holton, pleaded guilty Oct. 24 to operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days suspended jail with credit for two days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); Victim Impact Panel; and $1,055 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
Paula Marie Bonstell, 59, of 2158 E. Minke Rd., Hart, pleaded guilty Oct. 24 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to two days suspended jail with credit for two days served; AHSE; Victim Impact Panel; and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
Manuel Vazquez-Guijarro, 36, of 615 S. Dryden St., Hart, pleaded guilty Oct. 17 to disturbing the peace and was sentenced to $500 in fines and costs. One count of reckless driving was dismissed.
Harrison John Jenkins, 18, of 5648 S. Cherokee Bend, New Era, pleaded guilty Oct. 17 to third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs and $18.72 in restitution.
Jeremy Charles Gordanier, 31, of 50 Shaw St., Hesperia, pleaded guilty Oct. 23 to fishing without a license and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs.
Ray Gavcus, 79, of 4132 W. 93rd Place, Oak Lawn, Illinois, pleaded guilty Oct. 24 to burning flammable material on forest land and was sentenced to three months probation and $300 in fines and costs. Charge to be dismissed if he successfully completes the probation term. One count of failure to prevent the spread of fire was dismissed.
Evan David Brittain, 22, of 201 S. Harris St., Mount Pleasant, pleaded guilty Oct. 23 to fish snagging and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs.
Ricardo Ariosto Hernandez-Casanova, 35, pleaded guilty Oct. 20 to operating without a license and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
Larry Leon Ordiway II, 53, of 115 N. Clinton Ave., Saint Johns, Michigan, pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to fishing without a license and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs.
Dismissal
Justin Allen Russell, 31, of 7825 Maple Island Rd., Holton, charges of fishing without a license and operating without a license were dismissed Oct. 18.
