79th District Court sentencings, posted Oct. 17, 2023

HART — The following were sentenced  recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:

  • Saul Silva, of 611 S. Water St., Hart, pleaded guilty Sept. 13 to second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Oct. 5 to five days suspended jail with credit for three days served; six months probation; outpatient counseling; Alcohol Highway Safety Education; Victim Impact Panel; and $1,385 in fines and costs. One felony count of third-offense operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

 

  • Jeremy Scott Meyers, of 4444 S. 68th Ave., Shelby, pleaded guilty Oct. 3 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for one day served; six months probation; outpatient treatment; and $1,335 in fines and costs. Charges of second-offense operating while intoxicated and open intoxicants were dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS. 

 

  • Angelica Juanita Baza, of 5738 W. Johnson Rd., Ludington, pleaded guilty Oct. 10 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to three days suspended jail with credit for three days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education; Victim Impact Panel; and $1,160 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of transporting open intoxicants was dismissed.

 

  • Elijah Christian Galvan Flores, of 7595 S. Michigan Ave., Rothbury, pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Oct. 4 to two days suspended jail with credit for two days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education; Victim Impact Panel; and $1,190 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Miguel Angel Rodriguez-Lopez, of 2280 W. Baseline Rd., Shelby, pleaded guilty Oct. 3 to operating while impaired and was sentenced to one day suspended jail with credit for one day served; Victim Impact Panel; must attend evaluation with Services of Hope and if they offer additional counseling, he must complete their recommendations; and $1,055 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Sabrina Kay West, of 5789 6th St., Mears, pleaded guilty Oct. 10 to disturbing the peace and was sentenced to $500 in fines and costs. One count of malicious use of a telecommunications device was dismissed.

 

  • Clarence Elroy Thomas, of 4656 James St., New Era, pleaded guilty Oct. 11 to furnishing tobacco to minors and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

 

  • Amber Lynn McDonald, of 383 Pine St., Shelby, pleaded guilty Oct. 16 to failure to report an accident and was sentenced to $450 in fines and costs. One count of failure to stop and identify after an accident was dismissed.

 

  • Timothy David Wert, of 7125 S. Driftwood Dr., Rothbury, pleaded guilty Oct. 13 to illegal disposal of solid waste and was sentenced to $475 in fines and costs.

 

  • Dennis James McQueen, of 4203 Lapeer Rd., Port Huron, pleaded guilty Oct. 13 to operating an ORV while driver’s license suspended and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs.

 

  • Ivan Eduardo Madrigal-Vasquez, of 5665 W. 6th St., Mears, pleaded guilty Oct. 13 to allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. One count of invalid certificate of insurance was dismissed.

 

  • Billy Richard Huszar, of 3591 S. Water Rd., New Era, pleaded guilty Oct. 10 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • James Darin Grabinski, of 4867 W. Adams Rd., Pentwater, pleaded guilty April 26, 2023 to DWLS and received an amended sentence Oct. 6 of 62 days in jail with credit for 13 days served or pay $485 in fines and costs.

 

  • Jonathon Richard Close, of 1130 S. 160th Ave., Hesperia, pleaded guilty Oct. 10 to shining with a weapon in possession and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.

 

  • Joshua Joseph Norman, of 2838 E. Garfield Rd., Hesperia, pleaded guilty Oct. 10 to operating without insurance and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs, Charges of operating without a license and failure to report an accident were dismissed.

 

  • Franciso Jair Mendoza, of 85 Northland Crossing, Shelby, pleaded guilty Oct. 9 to operating without a license and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.

 

  • Billy Richard Huszar, of 3591 S. Water Rd., New Era, pleaded guilty Sept. 29 to possession of open intoxicants and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Ronnie Wayne Romans, of 5150 E. High Tower Lake Rd., Hesperia, pleaded guilty Sept. 29 to DWLS and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
