Hart man arrested for BB gun incident

HART — A 61-year-old Hart man faces criminal charges for an incident last week involving a BB gun.

 Mark Anthony Swenor, of 104 Washington St., is charged with felonies of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and felony firearm — pneumatic gun and two misdemeanors of assault and battery, according to 79th District Court records.

On Thursday, Sept, 28, 2023, at approximately 5:23 p.m., the Hart Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of Washington Street, referencing an individual with a weapon,” said Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.  

“Law enforcement arrived on scene and were able to identify a person of interest. At the completion of the investigation, the man was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Oceana County Jail.”  

No one was injured, said Chief Salazar.

The Hart Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Hart post.  

Swenor is scheduled to appear at a preliminary exam in district court Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. His bail was set at $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.
