Cyclist injured after hitting car on bike trail
GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 50-year-old Olan Park, Illinois man was transported by Life EMS to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital Sunday, Oct. 1, around 7:30 p.m. after hitting a vehicle with his bicycle on the William Field Memorial Hart Montague Trail where it intersects at Garfield Road, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
The cyclist told the investigating deputy that he was southbound on the trail when he crossed Garfield Road without stopping at the stop sign at the intersection. His bike struck the passenger side of a westbound 2020 Kia Sportage driven by a 68-year-old New Era woman, the report states. The cyclist said he did not see the car.
The Kia driver was not injured.
