Shelby Fall Festival set for Saturday, Oct. 7

SHELBY — The Shelby Fall Festival offers many fun-filled family activities in downtown Shelby Saturday, Oct. 7, including the first-ever Blessing of the Badges ceremony for Oceana County’s first responders.

The event schedule includes the following:

9 a.m. — The Ladder 5K and .5K Fun Run

Noon — Grand Opening and Shelby High School Marching Band

1 p.m. — Blessing of the Badges for Oceana County First Responders

2:30 p.m. — Big Wheel Race

3 p.m. — Shelby Jazz Band

4-6 p.m. — Live music from the DeSalle Bros — family friendly oldies, ‘80s, and Motown favorites.

4-6 p.m. — pulled pork dinner. Cost is $7 per person and no more than $35 per family.

All day —  arts and crafts fair, sidewalk sales, pop up musicians, puppet shows, games and free rides, first responder vehicle tours, food trucks, Pizza Factory Art Prize, Loteria Tent, kittens from Oceana County Animal Friends, and much more.
