79th District Court sentencings, posted Sept. 26, 2023

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:

Gavin Reece Dornbos, 20, of 68 N. State St., Hesperia, pleaded guilty Sept. 22 to burning flammable material on forest land and was sentenced to $450 in fines and costs.

Mario Calvo-Mendez, 43, of 50 S. Michigan Ave., Shelby, pleaded guilty Sept. 22 to transporting open intoxicants and was sentenced to $425 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

Taylor Austin Domingues, 26, of 502 Ludington Ave., Ludington, pleaded guilty Sept. 22 to driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $475 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. A second count of DWLS was dismissed. 

Kimberly Dawn Stevens, 48, of 405 Sharon Crt., Middleton, Ohio, pleaded guilty to domestic violence Sept. 12 and was sentenced to six months probation; no contact with the victim; and $410 in fines and costs. 

Jack Edward Brown, 72, of 4672 Doug Dr., Whitehall, pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated Sept. 12 and was sentenced to three days suspended jail with credit for three days served; must complete Victim Impact Panel; and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of open intoxicants was dismissed.

Jeffrey Lovell Brown, 56, of 899 Sharon Rd., Muskegon, pleaded guilty April 25, 2023 to operating while intoxicated and criminal contempt and was sentenced Sept. 12, 2023 to 39 days in jail with credit for five days served for count 1 and 93 days suspended jail with credit for 13 days served for count 2; one year probation; outpatient treatment; $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Aracely Valente, 56, of 3677 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Ludington, pleaded guilty Sept. 12 to operating while impaired and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education; and $1,090 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
