HART — Homecoming festivities are in full swing for the Hart Pirates this week.
Hart High School kicked off homecoming week with the annual powder puff event Sunday evening, Sept. 24. As the week continues, the hallways are transformed into the Candyland game board, and students brighten up the building with candy-inspired spirit week dress-up themes each day.
On Friday, Sept. 29, school spirit will permeate the district as the freshmen participate in their Freshmen Focus event, led by speaker Chris Bowers, and the whole student body takes part in the pep assembly. Fall sports teams, class representatives, and class floats will roll down the streets of Hart as the parade begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Hart Pirates will later take on the Mason County Spartans under the lights, and the 2023 king and queen will be crowned at halftime. A homecoming dance for students is set for Saturday evening, Sept. 30, from 8-11 p.m. in the high school gym
Members of the 2023 Hart Homecoming Court Include: freshmen class representatives Caden VanGelderen and Alayna Schiller; sophomore class representatives Chase Lorenz and Grace Hallack; junior class representatives Eric Hannan and Devyn Adams; and senior king and queen candidates Laura Bitely and Joseluis Andaverde, Lauryn Greiner and Connor Edwards, Sydney Goodrich and Tyler VanderZanden and Athene Thocher and Blake Weirich.
