The following is recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:

Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023:

• 7:47 a.m., death investigation, 6400 block of Filmore Road, Leavitt Township. A 60-year-old man was deceased at the scene. “It is believed illegal drugs may have been used,” said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. The case is under investigation.
• 12:46 p.m., larceny, Pentwater Township Cemetery, northbound Business Route 31, a ceramic pot with flowers and a metal sculpture valued at a total of $300 were stolen.
• 9:37 p.m., domestic assault, 4700 block of South Maple Island Road, Newfield Township.
• 11:07 p.m., a 30-year-old Grand Rapids man was arrested for fleeing and eluding police and operating without a license, Maple Island Road near Cleveland Road, Greenwood Township.
• 11:41 p.m., domestic assault, 7100 block of South Clearwater Court, Grant Township.

Friday, Sept. 1, 2023:

• 5:10 a.m., a 40-year-old Rothbury woman and a 32-year-old Twin Lake man were both arrested on warrants from other agencies, South Oceana Drive near Forrest Street, Village of Rothbury. A 42-year-old Twin Lake man was cited for operating without insurance. The woman is a suspect for methamphetamine possession and heroin possession pending lab analysis.

Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023:

• 2:05 p.m., breaking and entering, 142nd Avenue, Otto Township. A camper was damaged in the break-in, causing an estimated $500 in damages. A flashlight valued at $50 was stolen.

Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023:

• 1:01 a.m., a 21-year-old Whitehall man was arrested for resisting and obstructing police and reckless driving, South 116th Avenue, Otto Township.
• 11:47 a.m., malicious destruction of property, 2400 block of South 80th Avenue, Shelby Township. A mailbox was damaged.
• 11:14 p.m., illegal use of a GPS, 6700 block of South 56th Avenue, Claybanks Township. An ex-spouse allegedly planted an Apple AirTag on a vehicle.

Monday, Sept. 4, 2023:

• 9:59 p.m., an 18-year-old Hart man was arrested for domestic violence, 3600 block of West Lever Road, Hart Township.
• 3:07 p.m., domestic assault, 3900 block of South Riverview Drive, Newfield Township.

Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023:

• 9:22 a.m., domestic assault, 3800 block of North 72nd Avenue, Hart Township.
