Motorcyclist injured in US 31 entrance ramp crash

WEARE TOWNSHIP — A 61-year-old Muskegon man was injured in a motorcycle crash on the Monroe Road entrance ramp on US 31 Sunday, Sept. 4, at 7:18 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

The motorcyclist “suffered a badly broken leg,” said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The man, who was riding a 2004 Honda motorcycle, “was traveling south on the entrance ramp of southbound US 31 at Monroe Road when the driver lost control,” states the report. The bike “left the roadway and struck a directional road sign before reaching US 31 Highway.”

He was transported by Life EMS to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. It was not known if he was wearing a helmet.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.
