The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:

Monday, Aug. 21, 2023:

  • 9:49 a.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), malicious destruction of property, a 1986 Chevrolet El Camino was scratched/keyed, 4900 block of West Shelby Road, Benona Township. There are no suspects.
  • 12:08 p.m., (OCSO), disturbance, 3600 block of West Lever Road, Hart Township.
  • 2:36 p.m., (OCSO), larceny of Oceana County Road Commission traffic control signs, 18th Avenue and West Buchanan Road and 32nd Avenue and West Shelby Road, Benona Township.
  • 4:23 p.m., (OCSO), larceny of power tools and hand tools, 5700 block of West Sixth Street, Village of Mears.

Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023:

  • 8:33 a.m., (OCSO), criminal sexual conduct, ongoing investigation regarding underage pornography.
  • 8:07 p.m., (OCSO), domestic assault, 300 block of Sunset Boulevard, Village of Hesperia. No arrest.

Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023:

  • 11:05 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 42-year-old Muskegon man was arrested on a failure to appear o warrant, US 31 and Park Road, Grant Township.
  • 12:01 p.m., (OCSO), retail fraud of household items, Dollar General, Village of Rothbury. A 38-year-old Newfield Township man was cited.
  • 2:47 p.m., (MSP), a 28-year-old Shelby woman was cited for driving while license suspended, First Street and Oceana Drive, Village of New Era.
