79th District Court sentencings, posted Aug. 22, 2023

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court:

• Damian Michael Wilder, 36, of 415 State St., Shelby, pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 37 days suspended jail with credit for 37 days served and $250 in fines and costs.
• Jillian Elizabeth Newell, 24, of 5918 E. VanBuren Rd., Walkerville, pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to operating without insurance and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs.
• Aurelio Martin Melchor, 24, of Shelby (street address not listed), was found guilty Aug. 18 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $525 in fines and costs. A second count of DWLS was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
• Christopher Martinez, 24, of 2 W. Main St., Hart, was found guilty Aug. 18 of open intoxicants and was sentenced to $450 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
