Sergeants get their stripes, new deputy hired
HART — Oceana County sheriff’s deputies John Kessler and Jordan Lesausky were promoted to the rank of sergeant this week, and Grant Boyd was hired as a new deputy.
Sergeants Kessler and Lesausky are assigned to the sheriff’s office corrections division working in the Oceana County Jail. Sgt. Kessler has been working for the sheriff’s office since 2009, and Sgt. Lesausky was hired in 2021, said Undersheriff Ryan Schiller.
Deputy Boyd graduated from the 51st police academy at Grand Valley State University last week, and Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast and Undersheriff Ryan Schiller attended the commencement ceremony in support of the new deputy.
