Shelby man in stable condition after being shot
BENONA TOWNSHIP — A 35-year-old Shelby man is in stable condition at a Muskegon hospital after being shot with a gun Sunday night, Aug. 13, in the 3700 block of South 60th Avenue, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
No one has been arrested in connection to the shooting, and there is an ongoing investigation, said Sheriff Mast.
“He suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body,” Mast said. “There is no reason to believe there is any danger to the community or general public. There was a distinct issue — this was not a random act.” Detectives are serving a search warrant, he added.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday. “The victim is only able to give brief details.”
No other information is presently being released.
