Motorcyclist ejected from bike, which hits two parked cars
GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 39-year-old New Era man was transported by Life EMS to an area hospital after being ejected from a 2006 Honda CBR motorcycle, which ran over two parked cars Friday, Aug. 11, shortly after 6 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Sagola Trail, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The sheriff’s office is seeking charges of reckless driving, operating without insurance and improper license plate. The report is being turned over to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
The accident report states that the man “was traveling south on Sagola Trail well above the posted speed limit of 25 MPH when the driver lost control. The driver exited the roadway and struck the elevated driveway, which caused the motorcycle to lift off the ground. The motorcycle’s front end hit the grass to the south of the driveway which ejected the driver from the motorcycle. The driver then came to a rest under a parked vehicle while the motorcycle continued to travel south over two parked vehicles.”
The report states that the man was wearing a helmet.
