Wyoming woman injured in head-on crash

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old Wyoming woman was injured in a head-on crash Wednesday, Aug. 9, shortly before 5:30 p.m. on M 20 in front of Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

“The red Honda Pilot driven by a 20-year-old female out of the State of Wyoming, was eastbound on M 20 Highway and turning into Lewis Farms,” said Sheriff Mast. “The gray Ford Explorer driven by a 17-year-old female out of Shelby, was westbound on M 20. The red Honda Pilot turned in front of the gray Ford Explorer causing a head-on crash.”

M 20 in the vicinity of the crash was closed down for about an hour and a half, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The 17-year-old Shelby woman was not inured, said Mast. A passenger in the Honda — a 19-year-old Wyoming woman — suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment, according to the accident report. The injured driver of the Honda was transported by Life EMS to Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash, the report states.
