Golf United Oceana set for Aug. 19
SHELBY — The Seventh Annual Golf United Oceana is set for Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Oceana Golf Club.
“This event is the kickoff of our new 2023-2024 campaign year and our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Barbara Sims, director of Oceana County United Way of the Lakeshore. “All proceeds from this event will go to assist families in meeting their basic needs and building a thriving Oceana County community.”
The four-person scramble begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start, and check-in begins at 8 a.m.
The cost, which includes a full-course cook-out lunch, is $55 per person for Oceana Golf Club members and $75 per person for non-members. Golfers compete on contest holes and for raffles and prizes.
Space is limited, and golfers are encouraged to sign up soon at www.oceanagolfclub.com; by calling (231) 861-4211; emailing oceanagolfclub@gmail.com; or visiting the club, located at 3333 West Weaver Rd.
“When you support United Way of the Lakeshore in Oceana County, you are helping us meet our community’s bold goal of 10,000 more working families meeting their basic needs by 2025,” said Sims.
