OWI, meth possession arrests top police activity
The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:
Tuesday, July 25, 2023:
- 6:55 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 35-year-old Shelby man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and failure to report an accident, Buchanan Road near Cherry Point Farm and Market, Benona Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 11:20 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 35-year-old Walkerville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, Shelby Road near 132nd Avenue, Ferry Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Wednesday, July 26, 2023:
- 11:34 a.m., (OCSO), a 40-year-old New Era man was arrested for embezzlement, Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo, M 20, Shelby Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 8 p.m., (MSP), a 36-year-old Shelby man was arrested for assault and battery, Michigan Avenue, Village of Shelby. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 10:50 p.m., (OCSO), a 32-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for fleeing and eluding police, M 20, Newfield Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Thursday, July 27, 2023:
- 1:42 a.m., (OCSO), a 38-year-old Walkerville man was arrested for methamphetamine possession, improper license plate and operating without a license, East VanBuren Road, Leavitt Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 2:48 a.m., (MSP), a 24-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated, US 31 at the Rothbury rest area, Grant Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 3:11 a.m., (OCSO), a 32-year-old New Era man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, along with charges of operating without insurance, operating without a license and improper license plate, Loop Road, Ferry Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 3:35 p.m., (OCSO), a 41-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for methamphetamine possession, North 96th Avenue, Weare Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Friday, July 28, 2023:
- Midnight, (OCSO), larceny, 8400 block of South Oceana Drive, Grant Township.
- 1:42 a.m., (MSP), a 25-year-old Hudsonville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, M 20 and Oceana Drive, Shelby Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 5:04 a.m., (OCSO), a 27-year-old Rothbury man was arrested on an outstanding warrant, along with charges of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, operating without a license and operating without insurance, South 88th Avenue near Winston Road, Grant Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Saturday, July 29, 2023:
- 8:21 p.m., (OCSO), a 51-year-old Shelby man was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear along with a charge of assault and battery, 300 block of North Walnut Street, Village of Shelby. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 11:43 p.m., (OCSO), a 25-year-old homeless woman was arrested for fleeing and eluding police, assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, operating while intoxicated, open intoxicants and operating without insurance, South Male Island Road near Skeels Road, Greenwood Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
Sunday, July 30, 2023:
- 2:14 a.m., (OCSO), a 29-year-old Rothbury man was arrested for domestic violence, 7500 block of South Michigan Avenue, Village of Rothbury. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
- 4:12 a.m., (OCSO), a 34-year-old Hesperia woman was arrested for methamphetamine possession, North 56th Avenue, Golden Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
