Car overturns after avoiding deer collision
LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — A 28-year-old Hart woman suffered a minor injury when her car overturned after she avoided hitting a deer on North 168th Avenue near Fox Road Wednesday, June 28, around 5 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
The 2012 Ford Fiesta was southbound on 168th Avenue when a deer reportedly ran out in front of it. “She avoided the deer, but lost control of her vehicle,” states the report. “The vehicle went off the west side of the road and hit a tree stump. The vehicle then overturned.”
The woman was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol and drugs are not considered contributing factors in the crash.

- 2:30 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 32-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated, northbound US 31 near VanBuren Road, Pentwater Township. She was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
