The following is recent police activity in Oceana County:

Friday, June 23, 2023: 

  • 4:40 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), a 45-year-old Shelby man was arrested for assault and battery, 100 block of North Michigan Avenue, Village of Shelby. 
  • 6:03 p.m., (OCSO), a 50-year-old Claybanks Township man was evicted from the Claybanks Township Campground for a rules violation, 6400 block of South Scenic Drive, Claybanks Township. No arrests were made.

Saturday, June 24, 2023:

  • 4:47 a.m., (OCSO), disturbance, West 6th Street, Mears.
  • 7:27 a.m., (OCSO) malicious destruction of property, a vandal or vandals spray painted graffiti on three garage doors, 1300 North Raven Street, Golden Township.
  • 1:37 p.m., (OCSO), criminal sexual conduct (CSC) 4900 block of East Garfield Road, Newfield Township.
  • 2:47 p.m., (Michigan State Police), assault by strangulation and domestic violence, Electric Forest Festival, Village of Rothbury. (Suspect info unavailable.)

Sunday, June 25, 2023:

  • 1 a.m., (MSP), a 21-year-old Rothbury man was arrested on a fugitive warrant after a vehicle crash, which involved hitting a cement block, near the Electric Forest Festival venue, Village of Rothbury.
