51st Circuit Court sentencings, June 14, 2023

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court:

Vanderleest

Earl Jay Vanderleest, of 6720 M 20, Hesperia, pleaded guilty April 17 to third-offense domestic violence and was sentenced June 12 to one day

Sampson-Phillips

in jail with credit for one day served; one year probation; no contact with the victim; and $958 in fines and costs.

Daniel Peter Sampson-Phillips, of 2111 W. Creekwood Dr., Twin Lake, pleaded “no contest” to analogues possession and was sentenced to two months in jail and $198 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

Meredith Ann Cushman, of 3752 W. VanBuren Rd., Hart, pleaded guilty April 17 to methamphetamine possession and was sentenced June 12 to six months in jail with credit for 125 days served and $398 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Donald Paul Adams, of 101 S. Apple St., Hart, was found guilty May 1 of probation violation and was sentenced

Cushman

June 12 to one year in jail with credit for 306 days served; two years probation; and $908 in fines and costs. Probation stems from a Dec. 13, 2021 conviction of third-offense operating while intoxicated.

Adams

Jason David Tanner, of 90 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, pleaded guilty April 17 to possession of a loaded firearm and was sentenced June 12 to one day in jail with credit for one day served; one year probation; and $598 in fines and costs. The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office seized an Ithaca 12-gauge pump shotgun, according to court records.

Kristopher James Kubany, of 5474 W. Hammett Rd., Pentwater, pleaded guilty April 17 to methamphetamine possession and was sentenced June 12 to 19 days in jail with credit for 19 days served; one year probation; and $658 in fines and costs. One count of controlled substance possession — narcotic or cocaine less than 25 grams was dismissed.
