Guns stolen during break-in
PENTWATER TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a breaking and entering that was reported Friday, April 28, around noon in the 5400 block of West Ottawattamie Street, according to Lt. Shane Hasty.
“A neighbor noticed the door was open, and items were discovered missing,” said Hasty.
Items stolen include older firearms, a long curve hunting bow and a coin collection. No suspects have been identified yet.
If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 231-873-2121.

- 2:30 p.m., dog bite, 8700 block of West Grant Road, Shelby Township. A female was bitten. The case was turned over to Oceana County Animal Control.
Sunday, April 30, 2023:
- 6:31 a.m., assault, 5200 block of East Skeels Road, Greenwood Township. A 31-year-old man was assaulted by two suspects. The investigation was turned over to the Oceana County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Monday, May 1, 2023:
- 7:15 p.m., a 37-year-old Leavitt Township man was arrested for aggravated assault, 5300 block of East Deer Road, Leavitt Township.
