Newman promoted to assistant chief, 2 firefighters join Hesperia dept. 

HESPERIA — Jason Newman, a 15-year veteran of the Hesperia Area Fire Department, was promoted to assistant chief Wednesday, April 5.

Josh Hawk and Seth Barrs completed their training to join the department as firefighters.

Newman served as captain the previous seven years and lieutenant four years prior.

Hawk and Barrs completed the requirements to obtain their “black hats,” states the fire department.  “Congratulations to all, and thank you for your service and dedication to the community.”
