ESD’s InspiREading Team honored with Agency of the Year Award

GRAND RAPIDS — On Sunday, March 19, West Shore Educational Service District’s InspiREading Team was honored by the Michigan Reading Association with the Agency of the Year award for the team’s literacy initiatives. The team, including Betsy Dotson, Sara Jeruzal, Jaynie Manier, Justine Aultman, and Amy Taranko, were honored during the annual Michigan Reading Association (MRA) conference.

“In reviewing the documentation that accompanied the nomination, it is apparent that the InspiREading has a great deal of influence on students, adults, teachers, administrators, and parents in your community,” wrote Leah van Belle, president of the MRA.

The InspiREading team has developed several literacy programs including its recent Book Bus along with a series of videos and strategy cards that can help parents teach their children reading.
