Obituary: Maxine Hamrick, 86, of Mears

Maxine “Boo Boo” Marie (Kiggins) Hamrick, 86, passed away peacefully March 18, 2023, in her own home in Mears, at the impressive age of 86.

Loved by her family and friends, she was always ready with her abundance of wisdom to help anyone with advice or teach them a new skill. Her love for gardening and God allowed her to find beauty and purpose for all things.

Maxine is survived by: her two children, Pamela “Pammy” Hocker and Richard (Venus) Hornsby; three grandchildren, Sara “Trinkie” (Ray) Avila, Rebecca (Chris) Merrill, and Ashley (Jesse) Perez; four great-grandchildren, Adrianna Avila, Saylah Avila, Marissa Perez, and Tristan Merrill; two great-great-grandchildren; Devony “Debannay” Rae Avila-Willett and Alliannah “Koala-Koala” Maxine Avila-Willett.

Maxine was preceded in death by: her parents; Wava Louise (Bybee) Kiggins and Arthur Kiggins; her older brother; two younger brothers; and one younger sister.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
