Village seeks community input on zoning ordinance changes

SHELBY — The Village of Shelby is revising its zoning ordinance, and the planning commission plans to discuss the changes at its  March 21 meeting.

“Shortly after completing an update to the Village of Shelby Master plan in 2020, we began a major rewrite of our zoning ordinance and zoning map,” states a press release from the village. “The purpose of the project is to better align our zoning ordinance and map with the 2020 Master Plan, to clarify zoning procedures, and to work towards MEDC (Michigan Economic Development Corporation) Redevelopment Ready Community status. We are nearing completion of this project and want to give residents and other stakeholders an opportunity to comment on the draft. We encourage individuals to reach out to village hall with any questions or concerns. Alternatively, those interested, can attend the planning commission meeting scheduled for March 21, 2023 at 6 p.m.”
