Hesperia man sentenced to jail for abandoning dogs
HART — A 35-year-old Hesperia man was sentenced to 38 days in jail in Oceana County’s 79th District Court for a conviction of abandoning/cruelty to animals.
Thomas Carl Cryderman, of 268 Munn St., pleaded “no contest” to the charge Feb. 7, according to court records.
Cryderman violated state law when he left the mixed-breed dogs “without adequate measures to provide adequate, proper care like water, food and shelter,” said Oceana County Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Harrington.
The dogs were turned over to Oceana County Animal Control, said Harrington.
Cryderman received credit for 34 days served in jail.
