Sheriff’s office investigates Silver Lake area break-ins
GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — Oceana County sheriff’s detectives and deputies are investigating break-ins of two residences in the Silver Lake area.
The first breaking and entering was reported Friday, Feb. 17, at 9 p.m. at a summer rental property in the 4600 block of North Ridge Road, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
A rear sliding glass door was smashed and the residence was entered. The intruder or intruders consumed food from the residence, said Mast.
The second break-in was reported Saturday, Feb. 18, shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 4600 block of North Lakeshore Drive, which is in close proximity to the previous crime scene. Outdoor hunting and camping gear items were stolen.
Detectives and deputies are also investigating recent break-ins to Stony Lake seasonal homes.
“We’re investigating all possibilities, including if they are related,” said Sheriff Mast. “We’re trying to develop all leads that we can and understand everything that took place.”
If anyone has information about any of these crimes, they are asked to contact the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office at (231) 873–2121.
