Mears man leads deputies on short car chase before arrest

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 63-year-old Mears man was arrested for fleeing and eluding and driving without a license following a brief car chase on North 56th Avenue near Seventh Street Saturday, Feb. 18, shortly before 10 p.m., said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

A parole violation charge is also being sought against the man. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023:

• 3:25 p.m., vehicle crash, no injuries, South Elm Street, Village of Hesperia.

Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023:

• 6:18 p.m., single-vehicle crash, no injuries, West Arthur Road, Grant Township.

Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023:

• 3:52  a.m., a 26-year-old Scottville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a single-vehicle crash, North 200th Avenue, Leavitt Township. No one was injured.

Monday, Feb. 20, 2023:

• 6:57 p.m., larceny of a gaming unit, Clymer Street, Village of Pentwater.
