Obituary: Kenneth Beachum, 92, of Shelby
Kenneth “Beach” Wayne Beachum, 92, of Shelby, was called home by his Lord, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, with the love of his life at his side. He was born May 23, 1930, in Shelby, the son of Earl and Ruth (Hedges) Beachum.
Beach proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1947 until 1954. On April 21, 1956, Beach married the former Shirley Prill. They built their home on Shelby Road, living there for 67 years. Beach started his working carrier at DuPont, working there until it closed. At that time he became an asparagus farmer, for 40 years, while also working for Tanner and Stark.
Beach is survived by: his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley; sons, Larry Beachum of Holland, Brian (Beth) Beachum of North Carolina; granddaughter Jessica Posriech; great granddaughter Elena Pospriech; sister, Barbara Kozelka of Tampa Florida; step-grandson, Ian Newsome.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Earl and Ruth Beachum; sister, Marion Herin; brothers, Douglas Beachum, Gordon Beachum, Earl Beachum Jr.

Cremation has taken place, a graveside service will be held in the spring.
The Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, is in charge of arrangements.
