79th District Court sentencings, Feb. 8, 2023

HART — The following were sentenced recently in Oceana County’s 79th District Court: 

  • Kevin Scott Lewis, of 7725 S. 100th Ave., Rothbury, was found guilty Jan. 31 of larceny $200-$1,000 and was sentenced to $510 in fines and costs. Restitution is reserved. One felony count of larceny in a building was dismissed.

 

  • Bradley Dean Melchert, of 790 Hoague Rd., Manistee, was found guilty Dec. 6, 2022 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Jan. 17, 2023 to 93 days suspended jail; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); three months probation; and $1,040 in fines and costs. Jail sentence is suspended upon successful completion of probation. Charges of delivery of marijuana to a minor, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon were dismissed.

 

  • Tatania Marie Hill, of 11030 Northland Dr., Big Rapids, was found guilty Jan. 18 of larceny less than $200 and was sentenced to three months probation and $300 in fines and costs.

 

  • Yesenia Jovana Madrigal, of 101 S. 72nd Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Jan. 17 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to $500 in fines and costs.

 

  • Dean Comrade McCallum, of 8750 Holton-Whitehall Rd., Holton, was found guilty Dec. 20, 2022 of larceny less than $200 and was sentenced Jan. 17, 2023 to serve 93 days in jail concurrently with a Jackson County term.

 

  • William James Reichle, of 985 N. Luce Ave., White Cloud, was found guilty Nov. 1, 2022 of driving while license suspended and was sentenced Jan. 17, 2023 to $400 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

 

  • Christopher Lee Merriman, of 7550 E. Yonker Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Jan. 27 of DWLS and was sentenced to $450 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Holly Mae Back, of 9145 E. Harrison Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty Jan. 31 of operating without insurance was sentenced to $125 in fines and costs. One count of operating an unregistered vehicle was dismissed.

 

Dismissal

  • Cody Ashton-James Saunders, of 617 W. Arthur Rd., Rothbury, one count of operating without insurance was dismissed Jan. 17.
