Agriculture and Natural Resource Banquet to celebrate Conservation District

WEARE TOWNSHIP — The annual Oceana Agriculture and Natural Resources Banquet is scheduled for Monday, March 20 and will celebrate 50 years of conservation work by the Oceana Conservation District.  Conservation District staff and volunteers are putting together a historical look at 50 years of services they have provided to Oceana County.   Past and present staff and Board of Directors will be on hand to share their stories and the many achievements the Conservation District has earned over the years. 

The banquet will be held at the West Michigan Research Station, 5185 N. Oceana Dr. The evening will begin with a social hour between 6 and 7 p.m. sponsored by Kaleb Klotz Farm Bureau Insurance.   

Oceana inspired hors devours as well as beer and wine tasting from local breweries and wineries will be served.   The banquet will begin at 7 p.m. with a catered dinner prepared by Dave’s Kountry Kitchen of Rothbury.  

Following dinner, the Oceana Conservation District will make its presentations and present awards.   The evening will conclude with the awarding of the 2023 Friend of the Oceana Agricultural Industry Award.   

Tickets are on sale now for $20 per person at Country Dairy, Oceana Conservation District Office, or MSU Extension.  Tickets can also be purchased online by at www.oceanaconservation.org.  Seating for the event is limited.  There will be no ticket sales at the door.  For further information on the Oceana Agriculture and Natural Resources Banquet, you can call either the Oceana Conservation District at 861-5600 or the Oceana MSU Extension Office in Hart at 231-873-2129.
