Man who flashed police pleads ‘no contest’ to assault charge

HART — A 28-year-old Hart man pleaded “no contest” to assault with intent to commit second-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 30, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.
Luis Ismael-Lopez Estrella, of 3241 N. 72nd Ave., fondled and exposed himself to police officers who were called to the scene to investigate a sexual assault, said Bizon.
Estrella assaulted a female employee who was working at the Dunes Express Inn & Suites where he was staying as a guest, said Bizon. “He pressed himself up against her, and when she turned, he was exposed. This was understandably upsetting for her. She told him to leave, and she had a coworker call the police.
“When the police arrived, he was in a state of partial undress. While the police were attempting to communicate through an interpreter to figure the situation out, he continued to fondle himself and exposed himself to a police officer and even stepped toward a deputy sheriff while exposing himself.”
Sentencing guidelines in his case are 0-3 months, said Bizon, and a probation sentence is expected.
