Shelby PTO hosts action-packed elementary school carnival Friday

Tiger Pride is a presentation of Shelby Public Schools in partnership with Oceana County Press. 

SHELBY — A fun-filled carnival at Thomas Read Elementary School is set for Friday, Jan. 20, from 6-8 p.m.

The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) has organized the event as a fundraiser for the school. Enjoy games, raffles, popcorn, cotton candy and more.

The carnival will offer an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, balloon animals and many other fun activities. All tickets are 25 cents. Cotton Candy from ‘Hey Sugar Cotton Candy Company’ will be available, as well as hot dogs, chips and beverages.

The first 300 kids will receive a free backpack to carry their prizes in, and one of them is stuffed with free tickets.

Games, prizes and gift baskets are sponsored by the local community.
