Local police officers make Christmas merrier for 240 kids.

A total of 240 kids from 45 families received presents from Oceana County police officers Saturday morning, Dec. 17, through the Roy’s Kids program.

Some of the officers dressed as Santa Claus to greet the children as they dropped off presents.

The charitable program was launched in 1994 by New Era Police Chief Roy Strait, pictured fifth from the right.
