51st Circuit Court sentencings, Dec. 9, 2022

HART — The following were sentenced Monday, Dec. 5, in Oceana County’s 51st Circuit Court:
Austin Reily Bruursema, of 5379 Tyler Rd., Hart, was found guilty Oct. 10 of assault with a dangerous weapon and was sentenced Dec. 5 to 172 days in jail with credit for 172 days served; $8,238.68 in restitution; two years probation; and $598 in fines and costs. One count of lying to a police officer was dismissed. Bruursema’s restitution is for medical bills for his father, who was the victim of the crime and was hospitalized for his injuries, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.
Dustin Lee Carlson, of 4535 E. Filmore Rd., Hart, was found guilty July 25 of larceny in a building and was sentenced Dec. 5 to 59 days in jail with credit for 59 days served; $16,020.17 in restitution; one year probation; and $658 in fines and costs. Carlson’s restitution is for various items he stole from a home, including jewelry, said Prosecutor Bizon.
Fabio U. Garibaldi, of 147 Cameo Medio, Thomas River, New Jersey, pleaded “no contest” Aug. 4 to assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and was sentenced Dec. 5 to 11 days in jail with credit for 11 days served and $658 in fines and costs. A second count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police was dismissed.
