Obituary: Ronald Schwarz, 73, of Hart

Ronald Howard Schwarz, 73,  passed away peacefully in his sleep November 28, 2022.  He was born on October 23, 1949, in the Bronx, New York to Harriet (Skolnick) and Joseph Walter Schwarz. He settled in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan before marrying Susan (Yeager) on June 28, 1997, after which he moved to Hart.

Ron learned photography from his father and also attended the Germain School of Photography in New York.  He was a man of many talents and spent time as a traveling preacher, owned photography studios, camera and computer repair businesses, was a self taught computer programmer who wrote technical books and articles on Visual Basic. He was an early activist against the use of spam email and was appointed by Governor Milliken as an HMO commissioner.

Ron loved nature and in his younger years enjoyed spending time in the woods, hunting, fishing and foraging. His daughters remember their hikes fondly, learning about plants, animals, mushrooms and photography with their dad.

Ron suffered greatly over the years with health issues and awaited the day that he could be in Heaven, we rejoice that he is at peace.  He will be remembered for his incredible knowledge on just about everything, his keen sense of humor and quick wit.

Ron is survived by: his wife Susan; son, Joseph William Schwarz of Hart; daughters, Rachel and Sarah Schwarz of Texas; granddaughter Rose Greze of Texas.

Cremation has taken place, the family is planning a memorial service in the spring with no services at this time.

The Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, is in charge of arrangements.
