Obituary: Phyllis Wagemaker, 87, of Pentwater
Phyllis Jean Wagemaker, 87, of Pentwater, passed away peacefully, with her daughter, Kristina, by her side, on December 6, 2022. She was born July 21, 1935, the daughter of Martin and Leona Boot.
Phyllis had a great love for Pentwater, the beach held a special place in Phyllis’ heart. She could often be found walking one of her dogs or admiring the water; the beach was her solace. Phyllis enjoyed her flowers and gardening, when she was wasn’t at the beach, she was tending to her home gardens with her dogs at play in the yard. Phyllis carried a grateful heart, full of thanks for each day she was blessed with. She often told her children to “thank God for the gift of the day.”
Phyllis is survived by: her daughters, Helen (Tom) Scaife, Cynthia (Claude) Wierckz, and Kristina Wagemaker; brothers, Marty Boot, and David Boot; and many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Martin and Leona Boot; and son, Lester Wagemaker.
The family of Phyllis would like to thank the nursing staff of Medilodge, Ludington for their unwavering care, love, and kindness.
In accordance with Phyllis’ wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
