Obituary: MarySue Mahan, 64, of Hart
MarySue Mahan, 64, of Hart, passed away unexpectedly, December 4, 2022. She was born August 6, 1958, the daughter of Melvin and Marie (Herrygers) Mahan.
MarySue was a 1976 graduate of Hart Public Schools, and in 1978, a graduate of Davenport University. After graduating with her associate degree, she continued her studies obtaining serval different certificates and licensures for her career in banking. MarySue started her career at the Oceana Savings Bank as a teller and loan officer, and eventually moved on to the Shelby State Bank as the branch manager in Hart.
You could find MarySue filling her free time with aiding those in need, from volunteering within community outreach programs to sharing her famous homemade meals and baked goods. She was an active member of the Hart Methodist Church, Oceana Council on Aging, Hart Rotary Club, and she played in the monthly Canasta Club.
MarySue is survived by: her son, Joshua Mahan; father, Melvin Mahan; sisters, Janet (Ken) Klotz, Patricia (Mike) Scofield, and Cheryl (Dennis) Gale; sister-in-law, Anita (nee Russell) Mahan; and many nieces and nephews.
MarySue was preceded in death by: her mother, Marie Mahan; brother, Michael Mahan; and niece, Meika Riggs.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Hart United Methodist Church, 308 South State Street, Hart, with a luncheon immediately following. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue Hart and Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
