Winter storm warning in effect until Sunday morning.

OCEANA COUNTY — The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a winter storm warning for Oceana, Mason and Muskegon counties until Sunday, Nov. 20, at 7 a.m.

Heavy snow with additional accumulations of 4-7 inches and winds gusting as high as 40 mph are expected. Wind chills will drop into single digits by Saturday night, according to NWS.

Expect “moderately heavy snow this afternoon, tapering off early tonight.. “The heaviest snow quickly begins around 9 a.m. Saturday and starts to diminish around midnight Saturday night.

“Travel could be very difficult from Saturday morning through Saturday night..Blowing snow will greatly reduce  visibility, and some drifting is possible.

“If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
