Man scares off intruder who broke into house.
WEARE TOWNSHIP — A man noticed the cameras in his house were not working when he was not home Saturday, Oct. 29, shortly before 11 p.m. When he went home to investigate, evidence was found indicating that he scared off an intruder.
“It is believed that when he arrived, the suspect left through the basement,” said Lt. Shane Hasty of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office. Police found a cut screen, smudge marks and footprints, indicating that someone broke into the house.
The breaking and entering occurred in the 4400 block of West Hammett Road. Nothing was found to be stolen.

- 6:40 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 30-year-old Hart man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, West Harrison Road near Oceana Drive, Hart Township. He was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
