HART — A 33-year-old Muskegon man facing criminal sexual conduct charges will undergo psychological testing to determine if he’s mentally competent to stand trial, according to Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Cecil Paul Quinton, of 2798 Riverview Ave., appeared in 51st Circuit Court for a pretrial hearing Monday, Oct. 10, and requested a criminal responsibility examination.

Quinton faces charges of first-degree CSC  — victim under 13 years old — and second-degree CSC — victim under 13 years old — stemming from an arrest by the Michigan State Police, according to court records.

He remains lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a $500,000/cash bond.

The victim is a girl who was 10 years old at the time of the offense, which occurred while the victim was camping in the Huron-Manistee National Forest near Hesperia, said Prosecutor Bizon.

First-degree CSC is punishable by up to life in prison, and second-degree CSC carries a 15-year maximum term.
