Catalytic converter theft valued at $5,000 reported at park and ride.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A theft of four catalytic converters from the same pickup truck parked at the park and ride on M 20 near US 31 was reported to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Friday, Sept. 23, at 5 p.m., said Lt. Shane Hasty.

The four stolen catalytic converters have a total value of $5,000, said the lieutenant.

Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022:

  • 11:05 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 38-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for probation violation, Fish Road, Benona Township.
  • 9:30 p.m., (OCSO), carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated, East M 20, Newfield Township. A 33-year-old Twin Lake man is a suspect. A report is being sent to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022:

  • 3:30 p.m., (OCSO), a 4-year-old child was bitten by a dog, North 120th Avenue, Elbridge Township. The child, who was bitten near the eye, was transported by Life EMS to an area hospital.
