Celebrate New Era’s sesquicentennial Saturday.

NEW ERA — The quaint village of New Era has existed for 150 years, and a celebration Saturday, Sept. 17, will celebrate the milestone.

Carving into the local area’s historical lumbering days, the sesquicentennial celebration will feature axe throwing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Other events include a pancake breakfast; art contest; historical exhibit; arts and crafts fair; car and truck show; pony rides; live music; food trucks; and children’s activities.

The fall festival takes place downtown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
