Dear Editor:

Shelby Township was recently the recipient of budget appropriations by Senator Jon Bumstead. The township was successful in receiving $650,000 for roads and $350,000 for the Shelby Township Community Park. The appropriations are another example of the ongoing support from Senator Bumstead, who strongly supports Oceana County and continues to work hard for the community.

Senator Jon Bumstead has been responsible for several million dollars being moved from Lansing to Oceana County. There have been several projects that most residents are unaware of, and he was directly responsible for ensuring we went to the top of the list. We have come to him with issues of concerns for our community on several occasions, and he has followed through with dedication to the communities he serves. The Shelby Township Board is extremely appreciative of all of Senator Bumstead’s hard work and, just as importantly, very thankful that he has a team that is committed, engaging, and always accessible.
