Olympic gold medalist to join Pentwater’s 92nd annual Homecoming celebration.
PENTWATER — Nick Baumgartner, a 2022 Winter Olympics gold medalist snowboarder from Iron River, will join the 92nd annual Homecoming celebration this weekend.
Pentwater’s biggest summer event, locals and visitors love to come “home” for Homecoming, states a press release from Pentwater’s Chamber of Commerce. “There are numerous activities scheduled for everyone’s enjoyment.”
Baumgartner will be at the Pentwater Township Library Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. to greet children. He will also be showing off his gold medal while waving to the crowd during the Grand Parade Saturday at 4 p.m.
Some Homecoming highlights are the strawberry shortcake social, the combined concert with Pentwater Civic Band and Scottville Clown Band, the golf scramble, the sand sculpture contest, the horseshoe tournament, the Big Ten pre-season tailgate party, the grand parade, fireworks and the pancake breakfast.

6 p.m. — Strawberry Shortcake Social on the Village Green
7:30 p.m. — Less Bailey Memorial Concert on the Village Green with the Pentwater Civic Band and the Scottville Clown Band combined
Friday, Aug. 12, 2022:
8 a.m. to noon — Sand Sculpture Contest at Charles Mears State Park beach. Theme: Celebrating the History of Pentwater.
Mason/Oceana County MSU golf outing TBD
1 p.m. — Interactive storytelling at Storybook Village
Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022:
10 a.m. — Meet and Greet with Nick Baumgartner at Pentwater Township Library
1 p.m. — Horseshoe tournament at Art Audrey Horseshoe Pits
4 p.m. — Homecoming Grand Parade
Big Ten pre-season tailgate party at Village Cafe and Pub
Dusk — Fireworks at Charles Mears State Park
Evening — Live music at Village Cafe and Pub
