Bicyclist sustains minor injuries in hit-and-run crash.

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 15-year-old Mears girl who was riding a bicycle on the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail sustained minor injuries in a hit-and-run crash with a vehicle at the intersection of 64th Avenue Thursday, July 7, shortly after 4:30 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

The girl was westbound on her bicycle while drinking a canned energy drink, states the report. She disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of the trail and 64th Avenue and was struck by a motorist that left the scene.

The girl was ejected from the bicycle. She was not transported by an ambulance to the hospital, the report states. She was not wearing a helmet.
