Grandmother arrested for custodial interference.

CLAYBANKS TOWNSHIP — A 64-year-old New Era woman was arrested for a two-year felony of custodial interference Sunday, July 10, shortly before 9 p.m. in the 6900 block of 38th Avenue, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The 5-year-old girl, who is the suspect’s granddaughter, was not kidnapped or harmed, said Mast.

“The complainant (the child’s mother) was claiming that her parents would not return her 5-year-old and that she (the complainant) was assaulted by her father.”

The report will be forwarded to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if a domestic violence charge will be filed against the grandfather, said Mast.
